Non-Invasive Knee Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy:
Whether you’re coping with knee injuries, chronic medical conditions or post-surgical discomfort, our customized care plans can speed up your recovery and improve your range of motion, muscle strength, and postural alignment.
We use physiotherapy with a combination of balance re-education, orthopedic rehab, therapeutic stretching, and Hands-on therapy neurological rehabilitation to ensure optimal results.
Acupuncture:
Originally a Chinese treatment, acupuncture is now considered an effective alternative therapy for various musculoskeletal ailments, including joint pain, knee osteoarthritis and swelling. Our acupuncturists assess your lifestyle and food habits to determine the underlying reason for your pain.
Thin needles, inserted along strategic points of the body, help correct energy imbalances. Occasionally, depending on the prognosis, we combine acupuncture with other treatments.
Chiropractic:
Identifying the root cause of the knee inflammation can help you overcome pain without prescription medication or surgical procedures. We conduct a thorough physical and biomechanical examination of the lower back, pelvis, hip, ankle and foot to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
By ensuring the proper alignment of your knee joints, our chiropractors ensure your knee is in the ideal position to heal. We also leverage ancillary therapies like laser, ultrasound, electrotherapy, and strengthening exercises for best results.
Orthotics:
Foot orthotics are medically prescribed, custom-made devices that support and improve the foot. Often, incorrect or poor posture can lead to knee pain.
By supporting your foot tendons and ligaments, a foot orthotic device can help adjust your posture and prevent further damage to the foot, knees, hips and back.
Electrotherapy & Ultrasound:
We use a range of electrotherapy methods like Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), Interferential Therapy, Microcurrent Stimulation and High Voltage Pulsed Stimulators for deep tissues. These function primarily by blocking pain signals to your brain, increasing blood flow to the injured site and stimulating the production of endorphins, your body’s natural pain killer.
We have also successfully used ultrasound to decrease pain and improve joint function.
Complex Decongestive Therapy (CDT):
Our lymphedema specialist is certified in Complex Decongestive Therapy (CDT) and uses a combination of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), compression bandaging, decompression exercises and Bioflex LASER therapy to avert complications and promote faster recovery.
We also use the BIOFLEX® Therapist system— a set of pre-programmed, easy-to-use arthritic and musculoskeletal protocols that treat various conditions related to the knee.
Manual Therapy:
Manual physical therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands rather than a device or machine. It is especially effective for patients undergoing post-operative rehab or suffering from knee osteoarthritis.
Our physiotherapists use a combination of joint mobilization and manipulation, muscle stretching, therapeutic exercises and active release techniques to increase mobility and induce neuromuscular re-education.
Bracing and Taping:
Bracing and taping the knee helps you stay active while recovering from trauma by preventing harmful movements, stabilizing joints and offloading stress from injured tissues.
Our thorough understanding of biomechanics, injury and performance enhancement helps us apply braces and tapes in the most optimum way to facilitate faster healing and recovery.
